About Shadow Husky Rescue

French poet Anatole France once wrote, "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." For Tim McVicker — known throughout the husky rescue world as Master Wolf™ — that awakening began in childhood, feeding stray dogs his school lunch and sneaking them home. But the dog who truly changed his life was Shadow, a timber wolf Siberian Husky he pulled from the Orange County pound in 2006 with just one day left to live.

Shadow became a trained therapy dog, visiting convalescent homes and touching the lives of countless people who needed his gentle, boundless spirit. The seven years Tim shared with Shadow weren't just a beautiful friendship — they were the blueprint for everything Shadow Husky Rescue would become. When Tim founded the rescue in 2016 and built Shadow Husky Ranch in Menifee, CA, it was a tribute to a dog who proved what's possible when someone refuses to give up.
