Filling out a husky adoption application with Shadow Husky Rescue is the first step in a thoughtful, breed-focused process designed to set every dog — and every family — up for lasting success. After submitting your application, our team will review your information and reach out to schedule a conversation about the huskies you're interested in. Because we know this breed inside and out, we ask detailed questions about your lifestyle, living situation, experience with northern breeds, and your vision for life with a husky. This isn't gatekeeping — it's matchmaking. Huskies are high-energy, intelligent, and deeply social animals, and we want every adoption to be a transformative experience for both of you.
Our adoption requirements for Riverside County and surrounding areas of Southern California include a completed application, a phone or in-person interview, a home check, and an adoption fee. Adoption fees help offset the cost of veterinary care, spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and the extensive medical rehabilitation that many of our dogs require before they're ready for their forever homes.
